Turkey scrambles warplanes to intercept Syrian fighter jets
Turkey has scrambled two Turkish warplanes after two Syrian fighter jets flew close to the Turkish air space, the Turkish military said in a statement on Monday Anadolu News Agency reported.

Two Turkish F-16 jets were deployed to intercept two Syrian SU-24 warplanes, one approaching Karbeyaz town and the other Cilvegozu town of the southern Turkish province of Hatay near the border, the Turkish General Staff said.

It said one of the Syrian warplanes retreated 4 miles and the other 4.5 miles away from the Turkish air space.
