The Ukrainian side believes that the dissemination of such information contradicts to the positions of both the international community and the leadership of the Republic of Kazakhstan that has repeatedly stated its support for the territorial integrity of Ukraine.
"The Ukrainian side has requested the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan to immediately withdraw these textbooks from secondary schools,” reads the statement.
Crimea has become a Russian region after March 2014 referendum. Vast majority of the residents at that-time of Ukrainian autonomous region, not recognizing the legitimacy of the coup d`etat in Ukraine, voted for entry into the Russian Federation.
Moscow said the holding of referendum in the Crimea did not break any international laws and the UN Charter.
Ukraine still considers Crimea its region.
