List of most popular names given to children in Azerbaijan this year

List of most popular names given to children in Azerbaijan this year

The list of most popular names given to newly-born children in Azerbaijan over the first nine months of 2015 has been made public.

Yusif was the most popular boy name. This name was given to 2380 babies. It is followed by Ali (1686), Huseyn (1668), Murad (1033) and Mahammad (1006), the justice ministry told APA on Sept.25.

Zahra was the most popular girl name. This name was given to 2348 babies. This is followed by Nuray (1699), Fatima (1507), Aylin (1194), Ayan (1694), Zeynab (1128) and Ayan (1033).

This is the most popular names given to newly-born children in Azerbaijan in the past five years.

Ilkin (1268), Adam (1247), Royal (1227) are the least popular names given to newly-born boys in Azerbaijan over the first nine months of 2015. The least popular girl names are Gular (1397), Asmar (1364) and Arzu (1304).
