Azerbaijan initiates COP29 medical service preparations in Baku

Preparations for the medical service organization at COP29 in Baku have commenced, AzVision.az reports.

Among the medical institutions allocated to provide qualified medical care in connection with the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29) to be held in Azerbaijan is Yeni Klinika, subordinated to TABİB (Azerbaijan Medical Territorial Units Management Association).

According to the information, Mukhtar Babayev, Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of Azerbaijan, the COP29 President-designate, and Vugar Gurbanov, Executive Director of TABİB, got a taste of the preparatory process happening at Yeni Klinika.

The officials took a walkabout through the emergency and urgent care, intensive care, and inpatient departments of the new clinic and were given the lowdown on the medical services to be carried out according to the clinical protocols.

Vugar Gurbanov noted that, considering the probable requirement for medical intervention during the event, the following beds were assigned in the emergency department of Yeni Klinika: ten beds with specialized monitors and oxygen panels; three beds for children's emergencies; ten beds for inpatients; four beds for the intensive care unit; three beds for pediatric intensive care; and one bed for the operating room.
