Commenting on these developments, Maria Zakharova, the official spokesperson for the Russian Foreign Ministry, has warned that the Middle East is on the brink of a major conflict, with the potential for uncontrolled escalation leading to a large-scale war, AzVision.az reports citing Russian media.
"The root causes of the current dangerous escalation in the Middle East are tied to the unresolved Palestinian-Israeli conflict and the international community's failure to halt the unprecedented bloodshed in the Gaza Strip," the diplomat pointed out.
She noted that these factors have severely worsened the military and political situation in the region, particularly along the Israeli-Lebanese border, in the occupied Golan Heights, and in the waters of the Red Sea and the Bab-el-Mandeb Strait.
Zakharova also highlighted that "the confrontation between Israel and Iran has reached a new level."
"The Middle East has reached a dangerous tipping point, which risks further uncontrolled escalation and could lead to a major war," she concluded.
