The move was in response to the Biden administration’s "Russophobic" policies, the Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
The statement said the blacklist includes government and military officials as well as academics, businesspeople and lawyers.
It also includes editorial staff and reporters from “leading liberal-globalist publications involved in the production and dissemination of ‘fakes’ about Russia and the Russian Armed Forces.”
Among those listed are journalists that work for publications such as The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times and The Washington Post.
“We remind the current US authorities of the inevitability of punishment for hostile actions,” it said, including encouraging Ukraine to attack Russia or interfere in its internal affairs.
It said Moscow’s practice of expanding the blacklist in response to further Western sanctions will continue.
US authorities have not yet responded to the statement.
