Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has embarked on a working visit to France, where he is set to meet with French President Emmanuel Macron and Prime Minister Michel Barnier before returning on October 5.
In addition, he will participate in the summit of the International Organisation of La Francophonie, AzVision.az reports citing the Armenian media.
The discussions are expected to focus on strengthening bilateral relations and cooperation within the framework of the Francophonie.
From October 4-5, 2024, France will host the Francophonie Summit for the first time in 33 years, in close collaboration with the International Organisation of La Francophonie (OIF).
This summit is set to be one of the most significant events of 2024 in France, alongside the Olympic and Paralympic Games, the 80th anniversary of the Allied landing in Normandy and the Liberation, and the reopening of Notre-Dame Cathedral in Paris.
With the French language as its central theme, the 19th Francophonie Summit will take place at the Cité Internationale de la langue française in Villers-Cotterêts, a venue dedicated entirely to the promotion of the French language and Francophone cultures.
