French politician accuses Macron of driving country towards collapse

Nicolas Dupont-Aignan, leader of the "Rise Up, France" party, has harshly criticised French President Emmanuel Macron and his government, accusing them of pushing the country towards disaster with their misguided actions.

In an interview with Radio Courtoisie, Dupont-Aignan expressed deep concern over France's security, economic, and financial situation, calling for urgent action to open the public's eyes to the government's failures, AzVision.az reports, citing Caliber.az.

"I cannot accept that my country, France, continues to waste time and move closer to the abyss. The situation is critical, and something must be done to stop what this government is doing," said the politician. He also lamented the political establishment's inaction, comparing France's current trajectory to a "ship on the verge of crashing into an iceberg."

One of Dupont-Aignan’s key points of criticism was directed at Michel Barnier, the new Prime Minister appointed by Macron. According to Dupont-Aignan, Barnier's policies contradict the will of the people, particularly his support for the European Union's migration pact. The politician questioned why border controls exist outside the EU while foreign nationals in the bloc are not deported for committing crimes.

Additionally, Dupont-Aignan expressed regret over the failure of an impeachment attempt against Macron. He pointed out that under Macron's leadership, France's national debt has ballooned by over €1 billion, a sign of the country's deepening financial troubles.

The remarks underscore the growing dissatisfaction with Macron’s administration and the challenges facing France as it navigates internal and external pressures.
