Speaker of Azerbaijan’s Parliament Sahiba Gafarova, along with parliamentary delegation heads from other countries, met with President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon during the International Parliamentary Conference marking the 30th anniversary of the adoption of the Constitution of the Republic of Tajikistan.
Welcoming the participants, President Emomali Rahmon highlighted the importance of the conference and underscored the role of the Constitution in Tajikistan’s development, particularly in strengthening the country’s parliamentary traditions. He emphasized that the adoption of the Constitution was a pivotal step in advancing political reforms and solidifying Tajikistan’s state independence.
President Rahmon also touched on the importance of cooperation between the countries, particularly in humanitarian fields grounded in shared cultural and historical ties. He emphasized that legislative bodies play a crucial role in fostering constructive development in these areas.
The meeting also covered collaboration between parliaments in international and regional interparliamentary structures.
