  Singapore, UAE to hold online webinar on COP29 expectations and challenges

Middle East Institute - National University of Singapore, in collaboration with the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in Singapore, is set to organize an online webinar titled "From UAE to Azerbaijan: Expectations and Challenges for COP29" on October 22, AzVision.az reports. 

The webinar will be held as part of the preparations for COP29, which will take place in Baku, Azerbaijan, in November.

Participants will discuss the key outcomes of COP28 held in Dubai in 2023, expectations for COP29, opportunities for reaching a consensus on climate finance, and the challenges of phasing out fossil fuels.

The webinar will feature distinguished speakers, including Peter Govindasamy, Senior Director (Climate Change International Team) at the Singapore Ministry of Trade and Industry (MTI), Thureya Al Ali, Team Leader, Global Stocktake at COP28, and Aisha Al-Sarihi, an employee of the Middle East Institute - National University of Singapore, who will also serve as the moderator.
