Terror attack in Venezuela causes interruptions in electricity supply

Power outages have occurred in 25% of Venezuela's territory as a result of a terrorist attack against the National Energy System, Jose Marques, the Minister of Electric Energy of the Bolivarian Republic, said in an interview with Venezolana de Television channel, AzVision.az reports, citing TASS.

The minister noted that "25% of Venezuela's territory, including the capital district, has been affected by a new terrorist attack on the power transmission system."

He emphasized that "while the people are working and moving forward, terrorists are trying to harm the country." Marques pointed out that "terrorists are looking for ways to harm workers, pensioners, patients, children in schools, attacking the National Energy System to create anxiety and cause riots."

The minister stated that measures have been taken to restore electricity supply throughout the country in the coming hours.
