Armenia seeks to undermine negotiation process on Karabakh settlement - Azerbaijani FM
Armenia seeks to undermine the negotiation process on the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and maintain the status quo, based on aggression and occupation, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov said.

FM Elmar Mammadyarov made the remarks at a meeting with Greek counterpart Nikolaos Kotzias held as part of the 70th session of the UN General Assembly, the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry said on Sept.28.

Mammadyarov said Armenia intensively violates the ceasefire and by taking provocative actions, tries to escalate the tension on the contact line and along the border with Azerbaijan.

The construction of the TANAP and TAP gas pipelines continues successfully, the FM said, noting that these projects will contribute to the development of cooperation and creation of jobs in participating countries and regions. “The projects will change the energy map of the region,” he added.

Nikos Kotzias in turn said that Greece and Azerbaijan have broad opportunities for cooperation in many fields.

The Greek FM spoke of the importance of official visits and intergovernmental commissions, noting that he intends to make a visit to Azerbaijan to hold political consultations.

The sides further exchanged views on the migrant crisis and cooperation in the tourism sector.
