Azerbaijan and Spain competing to host Champions League final in 2027

Azerbaijan and Spain have expressed interest in hosting the 2027 UEFA Champions League final.

The competition to stage European soccer’s biggest club match will be between Baku’s Olympic Stadium and Madrid’s Metropolitano Stadium.

UEFA announced the two bidders on Wednesday and stated that final proposals must be submitted by March 19, with a decision expected in May.

Baku previously hosted the 2019 Europa League final, while the Metropolitano Stadium in Madrid hosted the 2019 Champions League final.
