Monitoring of transport management in Baku continues as preparations for COP29 advance.
A joint operation involving the COP29 Azerbaijan OC, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Azerbaijan Land Transport Agency, and the Republican Center for Emergency and Urgent Medical Aid under the Administration of the Regional Medical Divisions (TABIB) conducted traffic monitoring tests from 15:30 to 16:30 on October 26. Ambulances participated in the tests, which took place on central Baku streets and avenues without traffic restrictions.
As previously announced, further traffic monitoring will take place from 02:30 to 05:30 on the night of October 26-27, simulating the conference’s transport plan and routes. During this time, traffic restrictions will be in place on Heydar Aliyev, Istiglaliyyet, Narimanov, Khatai, Tbilisi, Azadliq, and Neftchiler avenues; Lermontov, Teymur Elchin, Niyazi, Nizami, Yusif Safarov, Mikayil Huseynov, Rashid Behbudov, Khagani Rustamov, Pushkin, Abdulla Shaig, Nizami, Izmir, and Bakikhanov streets; and Mardakan, Zigh, and Airport highways. Drivers are advised to use alternative routes during these hours.
