Difficult question to Thorbjorn Jagland
Secretary General of the Council of Europe(CE) Thorburn Jagland reported on several issues in the session of the the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe(PACE).

As usually, the deputy has been questioned after the report. However, this time much more questions has been addressed to the Secretary General of CE. This is not a coincidence,as both Europe and the Council of Europe are facing bunch of problems. The questions were asked to find the relevant explanation to those harmful problems.

Member of the Azerbaijani delegation Rafael Huseynov addressed a question to the Secretary General of the CE Thorburn Jagland: ‘Nowadays Europe and the whole world suffers from extremely sad and painful problems. Migrant flow brought Europe to a deadlock situation. Even several states do not want to allow the migrants, bringing huge problems with their appearance, to enter their countries.I have two questions regarding this issue.

Firstly, can you better understand now what has Azerbaijan, which has been facing such problems for the last 25 years, accepting and resettling and offering normal living conditions for about 1 million internally displaced people and refugees from various countries, overcome and how powerful it is?

Secondly, Do you feel the tolerance gap between Azerbaijan and the Europe when you compare the racist, fascist, discriminating approaches towards Muslim migrants fleeing to Europe and friendly, warm attitudes in Azerbaijan towards refugees from Iran, Middle Asia, even Armenians from Armenia?’

Secretary General of the CE had trouble to give relevant answers to those questions and confessed she is aware of the difficult situation Azerbaijan had in the nearest past and how it managed to overcome this difficulties. She noted, unfortunately Europe despite Azerbaijan and Turkey, which accepts thousands of refugees, is unable to solve this problem.
