Georgian FM to visit Azerbaijan
On September 28, within the 70 th Session of the UN General Assembly, Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov met with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia Giorgi Kvirikashvili.
During the meeting the sides expressed satisfaction with the comprehensive development of relations between Azerbaijan and Georgia. It was noted that the mutually beneficial cooperation between Azerbaijan and Georgia, friendly and neighboring countries, can be an example for the entire region.

The parties also noted that jointly undertaken major transport and energy projects will serve as regional cooperation, development and prosperity. It was stressed that these projects will completely change the transport and energy image in the region.

Ministers expressed their confidence that the railway Baku-Tbilisi-Kars, which is planned to be commissioned in the near future will increase the freight, the development of trade and economic relations and contacts between people.

Minister Elmar Mammadyarov invited his Georgian counterpart to Azerbaijan, and noted that such visits provide opportunities to determine the future direction of relations between our countries and the agenda of the joint cooperation.

Georgian Minister gladly accepted the invitation and said that Georgia is always ready to provide support in all important issues for Azerbaijan.

Mammadyarov spoke about the intense violation of the cease-fire by the Armenian side, Armenia`s provocative actions along the Armenian-Azerbaijani border and the line of contact, Armenia`s non-constructive position in the negotiation process to resolve the conflict and stressed that the conflict is a major threat to peace and security in the region.
