Cargo Dragon return delayed to December 12 - NASA

The undocking of SpaceX’s Cargo Dragon cargo resupply spacecraft from the International Space Station (ISS) has been put off to next week, the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) said on Thursday, AzVision.az reports, citing TASS.

"Mission managers waved off the planned return of the Dragon resupply spacecraft on Friday, December 6, due to forecasted unfavorable weather conditions at the splashdown site off the coast of Florida. NASA and SpaceX now are targeting Thursday, December 12, for the next [Cargo Dragon] return opportunity," the US space agency said on its website.

According to NASA, its astronauts completed installing science freezers packed with research samples and scientific equipment with completed experiments inside the spacecraft.

Originally, Cargo Dragon was scheduled to depart the ISS on December 5, but on Wednesday NASA postponed its return to December 6.

In early November, the spacecraft delivered food, supplies and equipment for the ISS crew, including the solar coronagraph for examination of solar wind, Antarctic moss for observation of space radiation and microgravity on plants, and a device to test cold welding of metals in microgravity.
