Azerbaijan sees over 17% surge in number of flights to foreign countries

As many as 24,335 flights were carried out from Azerbaijan to 43 countries in the first 11 months of 2024, AzVision.az reports, citing the country’s State Tourism Agency.

This is eight countries (22.8%) and 3,573 flights (17.2%) more compared to the same period in 2023.

In January-November of this year, the highest number of flights from Azerbaijan was to Russia with 7,067 flights, which is 10.2% more year-on-year (YoY).

Over the course of eleven months, after Russia, Türkiye had the most flights from Azerbaijan with 5,405 flights, marking an increase of 4.1% YoY.

The United Arab Emirates ranked third with 2,880 flights (+32.7%). The top ten also includes Georgia 1,852 (+23.4%), Kazakhstan 788 (+5.6%), Saudi Arabia 765 (-9.5%), India 603 (+3.3 times), Qatar 534 (+54.7%), Uzbekistan 393 (-29.5%), and Kuwait 377 (+8.3%).

In November alone, the number of flights carried out from Azerbaijan abroad increased by 6.7% YoY to 2,067. This includes 547 flights to Russia, which is 7.4% less compared to November 2023.
