A high-ranking Iranian official said Iran is open to direct dialogue with Syria's new leadership to prevent a hostile trajectory of relations between the two countries, AzVision.az reports, citing Reuters.
This development comes after representatives of the armed opposition in Syria, who had taken control of the state television, claimed that they had established control over the country.
Prime Minister Mohammed Ghazi al-Jalali and several ministers are currently still in Syria, with the head of government stating that he has established contact with the leadership of the armed opposition.
