A panel session titled “AI and Strategic Development: A Vision for Azerbaijan`s Future” featured Hikmet Hajiyev, Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan and Head of the Foreign Policy Affairs Department of the Presidential Administration.
Hajiyev said that the fake news spread by the Western and Armenian media, particularly in relation to the Second Karabakh War, anti-terrorist operations, as well as COP29, are examples of the ongoing disinformation campaign applied against Azerbaijan.
Saying that Azerbaijan combats disinformation by employing AI, Hikmet Hajiyev emphasized that despite the end of the Patriotic War, the country remains the target of a disinformation campaign. Azerbaijan brings up issue during negotiations with Armenia.
Addressing Azerbaijani-Turkish relations, Hajiyev noted their dynamic growth both bilaterally and within the framework of the Turkic States Organization. He went on to highlight the two countries’ collaboration in artificial intelligence.
The aim of the two-day summit is to focus on the new opportunities and expertise offered by new technologies and artificial intelligence in the field of communication and at the same time, highlight various problems it may cause.
