Alessandro Giuli noted the high level of relations between the two countries in the fields of trade and energy. He said that Italy is also interested in cultural cooperation with Azerbaijan. "We highly appreciate the contributions of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation to the restoration of Italy’s, as well as the Vatican’s historical and religious heritage," the Italian minister added.
Adil Karimli underlined that relations based on mutual trust and friendship between the leaders of Azerbaijan and Italy are strengthening year by year. He emphasized that Azerbaijan also attaches importance to cooperation with Italy.
The minister underscored that during the occupation of Azerbaijani territories by Armenia, the centuries-old historical and cultural heritage of Azerbaijani people was destroyed and subjected to vandalism. “President Ilham Aliyev and First Vice-President Mehriban Aliyeva pay special attention to the restoration of historical and cultural monuments. Italy is also contributing to the reconstruction process in the liberated territories,” he added.
The meeting also exchanged views on other issues of mutual interest.
