  Azerbaijani economy minister holds several meetings in Davos

Mikayil Jabbarov, Azerbaijan’s Minister of Economy along with Rovshan Najaf, President of the State Oil Company of the Republic of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) met with Gordon Birrell, bp Executive Vice President for Production and Operations as part of President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev’s participation in the World Economic Forum in Davos, AzVision.az reports.

During the meeting, they discussed the company’s active role in promoting green energy transition, its efficient partnership with Azerbaijan, and the efforts to diversify its operations in the country.

Azerbaijan’s Minister of Economy also met with Morten Dyrholm, Vice President of Vestas Wind Systems A/S on the margins of the Davos Economic Forum. The meeting saw discussions on the importance of implementing green technologies, the positive impact of innovative solutions in industry, and opportunities for cooperation in wind energy utilization.

Subsequently, the Azerbaijani delegation attended the “Trade and Investment Leadership Lunch” session, where they discussed priority areas in trade and investments. The discussions also revolved around the geopolitical impact on economic diversification, alongside innovation, efficiency and strategies for management and development.

Anar Akhundov, Deputy Minister of Economy, met with Fuad Hayel Saeed Anam, Member of the Board of Directors of HSA Group. During the meeting, the Deputy Minister briefed Fuad Hayel on the favorable business climate created for foreign investors in Azerbaijan.

The discussions also addressed the use of sustainable approaches and opportunities for joint action in the agricultural sector, industry, and production processes.
