Guatemala Landslide Reportedly Leaves 26 Dead

Guatemala Landslide Reportedly Leaves 26 Dead

A landslide caused by heavy rain in Guatemala

Up to 600 people were missing after the landslide on Friday, ITV said citing local authorities and fire service representatives.

Dozens of homes in Santa Catarina Pinula were affected by the disaster, which occurred late on Thursday in a suburb located about 15 kilometers (about 9 miles) east of Guatemala City, the country’s capital.

Rescue crews are now searching for victims using mechanical diggers.
