  Baku to host first meeting of Azerbaijan-Slovenia economic cooperation working group

The first meeting of the Working Group on Economic Cooperation between Azerbaijan and Slovenia will take place in Baku.

An Azerbaijani-Slovenian business forum is scheduled to be held in Baku on April 17, AzVision.az reports. 

The forum will be held within the framework of the visit to Azerbaijan by Slovenia’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Tanja Fajon.

The business forum will be attended by companies operating in the fields of information and communication technologies, unmanned vessel manufacturing, marine transport automation systems, construction, and metal structure production.

As part of the visit, the first meeting of the Working Group on Economic Cooperation between Azerbaijan and Slovenia is also scheduled for April 17.

In addition, with the support of the Azerbaijan Export and Investment Promotion Agency (AZPROMO) and the Ministry of Economy, the forum will include discussions on expanding bilateral business and investment cooperation.

According to data from the State Customs Committee, in 2024, the trade turnover between the two countries amounted to $30.08 million, which is a decrease of 24.47% compared to the previous year.

Imports from Slovenia fell by 23.53% to $21.95 million, while exports from Azerbaijan declined by 26.92% to $8.13 million.

However, in January–February of the current year, trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Slovenia reached $7.53 million, showing a 67% increase. Exports to Slovenia totaled $2.02 million (up by 66.08%), and imports from Slovenia amounted to $5.51 million (up by 67.34%).
