2 killed in shooting near Sydney police HQ
A civilian employed by Australian police was fatally shot on Friday outside the state police headquarters in western Sydney. His assailant was then killed, AP reported.
The information technology specialist for police was shot at close range with a handgun as he left work, according to New South Wales Police Commissioner Andrew Scipione.

Officers returned fire and killed the gunman, he said. The motive for the attack has not been immediately determined.

Police said there was nothing to suggest the shooting was terror-related, adding the investigation was continuing.
