Magnitude 5 earthquake strikes central Iran

A powerful earthquake of 5 magnitude shook Iran's Semnan province on Thursday morning, AzVision.az reports, citing Mehr news agency.

The earthquake occurred at 08:53 local time in Zaman Abad at a depth of 9 km, according to the Iranian Seismological Center.

The epicenter of the quake was located at 57.19 degrees longitude and 35.25 degrees latitude.

There have been no immediate reports of possible casualties or damage.
