During the meeting, discussions centered around topical issues on the cooperation agenda between Azerbaijan and Ukraine based on friendly and partnership relations, including opportunities for enhancing cooperation in the political, economic, energy, transport and humanitarian domains.
Highlighting that Azerbaijan and Ukraine have historically demonstrated unwavering support for each other's territorial integrity and sovereignty, Minister Bayramov stressed the importance of developing bilateral relations between the two countries based on respect for the norms and principles of international law, including in particular the sovereignty, territorial integrity and inviolability of borders.
Both sides underlined the prospects for enhancing various aspects of economic relations between the two countries, emphasizing the importance of the activity of the Government Commission on Economic Cooperation between the Republic of Azerbaijan and Ukraine in fostering cooperation.
The meeting included an exchange of views on regional and international security matters, as well as issues of mutual interest in this regard.
FM Bayramov provided insight into the ongoing restoration and reconstruction efforts in the liberated territories of Azerbaijan in the post-conflict period, including the current status of the Azerbaijan-Armenia normalization process, and the obstacles created by Armenia in this process.
Ukrainian FM Andrii Sybiha hailed the humanitarian assistance provided by Azerbaijan to Ukraine, as well as its support in recovery and reconstruction efforts, and humanitarian mine clearance in the conflict-affected territories. The Ukrainian FM extended his congratulations to the Azerbaijani people on May 28 - Independence Day.
The meeting also addressed other issues of common interest.
