Mi-8 helicopter disappears from radar in Russia

A Russian Mi-8 helicopter operated by Vzlet Airlines has gone missing during a domestic flight from the settlement of Okhotsk to the city of Magadan, AzVision.az reports, citing Russian media.

According to operational services, the helicopter failed to make scheduled contact while en route. In response, a search operation has been launched, involving another Mi-8 helicopter dispatched from Okhotsk and an An-26 aircraft deployed from Magadan.

Preliminary information suggests that five people were on board the missing aircraft, including three crew members and two technicians. Officials said the technicians had recently completed repair work and were traveling to the next location along with the crew.

The search operation is ongoing.
