Postage stamps dedicated to 150th anniversary of National Press issued in Shusha

As part of the 3rd Shusha Global Media Forum themed "Digital Transitions: Strengthening Information and Media Resilience in the Age of Artificial Intelligence,” “Azerpost” LLC and the Media Development Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan jointly issued postage stamps dedicated to the 150th anniversary of the National Press, AzVision.az reports.

On the second day of the forum, Hikmat Hajiyev, Head of the Foreign Policy Affairs Department of the Presidential Administration of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and Ahmad Ismayilov, Executive Director of the Media Development Agency, sealed the commemorative postage stamps.

One of the stamps features a portrait of Hasan bey Zardabi, founder of the national press of Azerbaijan, along with a reproduction of an article from “Akinchi”, the first Azerbaijani-language newspaper. The second stamp displays the printing house of the “Kaspi” newspaper, founded in 1881, as well as an image of its editor-in-chief, prominent publicist and public figure Alimardan bey Topchubashov.

Both stamps include the inscription “National Press-150(1875–2025),” highlighting the historical significance of the anniversary.

Designed by Artist Aydin Asgarov, the stamps were printed by Belgium Post.
