Earthquake of magnitude 5.7 hits off coast of Japan

An earthquake of magnitude 5.7 has struck off the coast of Honshu Island in Japan, the European-Mediterranean Seismological Center (EMSC) said, AzVision.az reports, citing TASS.

According to the EMSC, the epicenter was located 76 km northeast of the city of Ishinomaki, where about 117,000 people live. The source was located at a depth of 50 km.

There was no information about casualties or damage. No tsunami threat has been announced.
