The 550th anniversary of the birth of Ashig Dirili Gurbani, the National Commission of Azerbaijan for UNESCO said in a statement, AzVision.az reports.
The decision was approved at the 43rd session of the UNESCO General Conference held in Samarkand, Uzbekistan.
Ashig Dirili Gurbani was one of the most outstanding medieval Azerbaijani folk artists who lived in the second half of the 15th and early 16th centuries.
