Passenger trains collide in Czech Republic, dozens injured

Two trains collided on Thursday morning near the town of Zliv in the southern Czech Republic, injuring 42, AzVision.az reports, citing Xinhua.

Five individuals were seriously injured and are under medical care at a local hospital, Czech Television reported, quoting rescue services.

The incident occurred around 6:15 a.m. local time (0515 GMT), and all passengers have been evacuated, the fire and rescue service of the South Bohemia Region said on the social media platform X.

One of the trains was an express train, and the other was a local one. Both are run by Czech Railways. The cause of the incident is still under investigation.
