Azerbaijan joins 4th meeting of D-8 Trade Ministers Council

The 4th session of the Council of Trade Ministers of the Developing Eight (D-8) countries was held in Cairo, the Arab Republic of Egypt, AzVision.az reports.

Addressing the event, Samad Bashirli, Deputy Minister of Economy, hailed Azerbaijan’s fruitful partnership relations with the D-8 countries.

The deputy minister described the D-8 organization as an effective platform for strengthening trade stability among member states, diversifying markets, and expanding economic cooperation.

He also highlighted the importance of discussions held within the organization aimed at increasing trade volumes and forming more efficient economic relations.

Samad Bashirli provided insight into the current favorable business environment in Azerbaijan, its strategic transport and logistics advantages, industrial potential, and broad investment opportunities.

The meeting focused on deepening trade integration, increasing investment flows, promoting sustainable development, and expanding knowledge exchange among member countries.

The event participants emphasized significance of trade forums, mutual visits of delegations and direct business relations in elevating the economic cooperation to a new level. They also stressed the need to strengthen joint efforts to increase trade turnover among D-8 countries.

The meeting brought together trade ministers and delegations from D-8 member states.

The Cairo Declaration on Trade Cooperation was adopted at the meeting.
