Landslide Kills 13, Including 7 Children in South Pakistan
At least 13 people, including 7 children, died after a landslide hit shanties in the southern Pakistani city of Karachi early Tuesday, local media cited rescuers as saying.
According to the national Dawn newspaper, a mass of soil and rocks came down from a nearby hill on three camps housing two families of laborers in the Karachi`s Gulistan-i-Jauhar area, burying their dwellings.

First-responders pulled 13 bodies from the rubble, among them three men and three women. Rescuers fear at least three more people could be trapped underneath.

Rangers and police officers are participating in the search-and-rescue operation, with heavy machinery helping clear debris.
