8th Ataturk International Conference kicks off in Ganja
The 8th Ataturk International Conference of world historians has kicked off in Ganja, organized by the Institute of History of Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS) and Ataturk Research Center of Turkey, AzVision.az reports citing AzerTag .
The event, held under the auspices of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan, is devoted to the Independence Days of both countries.

The event participants first visited the monument to national leader Heydar Aliyev and laid a wreath.

The event started with a Minute of Silence in memory of those killed in the terrorist attack in Turkey.

Opening the event, the director of the Institute of History of ANAS Yagub Mahmudov said that the conference was devoted to the discussion of the actual problems of the history of the XIX-XX centuries of Azerbaijan and countries in the region.

Speaking about the importance of such a prestigious event, the Chief Executive of Ganja Elmar Valiyev wished success to the conference.

93 scientific reports will be heard at the international conference to last till October 16.
