The statement came from leader of the National Self-Determination Union, presidential candidate Paruyr Hayrikyan, speaking at a news conference in Yerevan.
As for the versions of the accident, Hayrikyan said that the evil-wisher was a professional and did not make any mistake.
As for his previous statements that the attempted murder against him was organized by former KGB and currently the security services of Russia, Hayrikyan repeated his accusations.
“These are the forces that did everything for the Iran-Armenia gas pipeline not to be complete, these are the forces that organized a massacre in Sumgayit”, he said.
Thus, Hayrikyan has confirmed what the Azerbaijan side repeatedly stated-the 1988 events in Sumgayit were planned by KGB which means that ethnic hatred of Azerbaijanis towards Armenians as a motive of these events is out of the question.
