International forum of `Silk Way` starts in Tbilisi
The international forum `Silk way` has started in Tbilisi, AzVision.az reports citing to Transport Ministry.
Deputy prime minister of Azerbaijan Abid Sharifov, the Ministry of Transport and the Deputy Minister Musa Panakhov participated at the forum.

The forum started on October 15 on the initiative of the government of Georgia and with financial support of the Chinese government and Asian Development Bank. More than 1000 representatives from 30 countries, including high-ranking officials of 20 international financial and donor organizations are expected to attend at the event.

The participants highly evaluated the event and noted that the restoration of the Silk Way will play an important role in development of not only the South Caucasus, but also Europe and Asia, as a whole.

"Officials of Azerbaijan and other countries, as well as the leaders of influential financial structures spoke at the forum."

The panel sessions as part of the forum to last until October 16 will discuss the development of trade and economic ties and cooperation between the two countries, Transport and Infrastructure: new requirements in connection with the trade turnover between the states, joint cooperation in the resolution of existing problems for strengthening the trade along the Silk Way, as well as Silk Way and energy: construction of pipelines and power trade without borders, and the investment potential of Georgia.
