Brazil`s state of Parana recognizes Armenian Genocide
Parliament of Brazilian state of Parana adopted a bill recognizing Armenian Genocide in the Ottoman Empire.
The first article of the bill says legislative assembly of the state is setting a day of Armenian Genocide recognition which will be marked on April 24 every year. The day of Armenian Genocide will be listed among the official events of Parana state.

The bill authored by MP Ney Leprevost was signed by the governor Carlos Alberto Richa. It came into effect on February 28.

Parana is a state with 10.5-million population located in the south of Brazil. It is home to a small Armenian community.
