SOCAR upgrades infrastructure of offshore field
The SOCAR company plans to complete work on improvements of the marine base at the West Absheron oil field during the first half of 2016, said the company on Nov. 2.
In a message, the company said that a one kilometer pipeline has been laid between the No. 20 and No. 57 bases.

“Also, a gas distribution battery was installed at base No. 20,” said the message. “The work, which began in March 2015, is scheduled for completion in the first half of 2016.”

Neftqaztikinti trust is the contractor performing the work.

SOCAR includes production associations, such as Azneft, those enterprises producing oil and gas onshore and offshore, Azerkimya, the chemical industry enterprises, and Azerigas, which is responsible for gas distribution.

SOCAR is the sole producer of oil products in Azerbaijan. It owns two oil refineries, and also owns filling stations in Azerbaijan, Georgia, Ukraine, Romania and Switzerland.

Additionally, SOCAR is a co-owner of Petkim, the largest Turkish petrochemical complex.
