Militant bombing kills 7 in Damascus countryside
At least seven civilians have been killed in a car bomb explosion carried-out by foreign-backed militants in the countryside of the Syrian capital Damascus, reports say, Press TV reported.
The attack took place on Tuesday near a school compound in al-Arin neighborhood when a terrorist detonated a vehicle.
According to local media, the explosives used in the deadly attack weighed about 100 kilograms.

The bombing occurred amid a surge in violence in other areas of Damascus. Reports said six civilians were injured in a mortar attack launched by the militants in the Bab Touma neighborhood of the capital.

Another mortar shell landed near al-Bashir Hospital in the al-Zahraa neighborhood of Damascus, leaving two children wounded.
Meanwhile, sources said that 25 civilians were injured in terrorist mortar attacks on Saadallah al-Jaberi Square in the city of Aleppo.
On May 10, three people lost their lives in a terrorist car bomb attack in Syria`s west-central Hama province.

Cities and towns across Syria have frequently come under bomb attacks as well as mortar and rocket fire by extremist groups since the crisis broke out in the country over three years ago.
Takfiri groups have recently stepped up their deadly attacks against Syrians as the Arab country is preparing to hold an important presidential election on June 3.

Syria has been the scene of a deadly turmoil since March 2011. Reports says over 150,000 people have so far been killed and millions of others displaced because of the foreign-backed militancy plaguing the country.
