Finnish president intends to visit Azerbaijan
The Finnish president intends to visit Azerbaijan.
During a visit to Finland, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov met with Finnish President Sauli Niinist
During the meeting, President Niinistö stressed the high level of relations between the two countries.

He also emphasized the great potential for developing the cooperation in the economy, energy, agriculture and investments.

Mammadyarov stressed the importance of organizing the business forums, mutual visits for further development of cooperation between Azerbaijan and Finland.

As for the major regional projects in the energy and transport sectors, where Azerbaijan is the initiator and participant, Mammadyarov would like the Finnish side to participate there.
Mammadyarov informed the president about the final stage of negotiations on the peaceful settlement of the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict.
He also stressed the need for withdrawing the Armenian armed forces from the occupied Azerbaijani territories to resolve this conflict, which is a threat to the regional stability and development.

Mammadyarov informed the president about Azerbaijan`s priorities as part of chairmanship in the CE and the country`s position on cooperation with the EU.

The Finnish president voiced the intention to visit Azerbaijan.
The sides also exchanged views on international and regional issues of mutual interest.
