The 5th Turkish-Russian Joint Strategic Planning Group Meeting will take place on Wednesday in Istanbul under the chairmanship of Lavrov and his Turkish counterpart Feridun Sinirlioglu.
Meeting participants will discuss international issues, including an end to the Syrian civil war and an end to conflict in the Middle East in general, according to the ministerial statement. An emphasis will be put on increasing efficiency in countering terrorism. The sides will also discuss ongoing issues with regard to Ukraine, the Caucasus and Central Asia.
