Georgia unconditionally supports Azerbaijan`s territorial integrity - Ambassador
“The development of the South Caucasus region mostly depends on the relations between Georgia and Azerbaijan. One of the main directions of the Georgia-Azerbaijan relations is regional projects that are jointly implemented. These projects are serving European and Asian countries”, said Georgian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Teymuraz Sharashenidze at a reception held in Baku on the occasion of Independence Day of Georgia, APA reports.
The diplomat said the targets of both countries create a basis for close relations in the political, economic, humanitarian fields, and joint cooperation between Georgia and Azerbaijan: “Friendly relations and cooperation with neighbouring countries is the main principle of Georgia`s foreign policy and its obvious case is our relations with Azerbaijan. Azerbaijan and Georgia, the two fraternal countries, have side by side got over all difficulties for years, and are taking steps in the direction of a joint target like building a modern, developed, democratic state. Restoration of our countries` territorial integrity within internationally recognized boundries is the top duty for both countries. Georgia unconditionally supports Azerbaijan`s territorial integrity, and Azerbaijan also supports Georgia`s territorial integrity and Euro-Atlantic desires”.
Talking about several high-level visits, Teymuraz Sharashenidze said the execution of agreements and recommendations through these visits and meetings creates an impetus for the entire region`s development.
The ambassador also stated that friendly and fraternal relations between Georgia and Azerbaijan have positive dynamics.
Transport Minister Ziya Mammadov congratulated the Republic of Azerbaijan on behalf of Azerbaijan and said Azerbaijan and Georgia are tied with the most ancient roots.
“Based on these roots, our countries have always lived and developed in a fraternal and friendly state”, stressed the Minister.
