The Armenian government on Thursday adopted the decision that Blue Mosque and the adjacent areas are the property of Armenia, AzVision.az reports citing Armenian news.am.
The mosque is expected to be listed as historical and cultural monuments of Armenia.

But subsequently, a contract will be signed with the Iranian embassy, and regarding the latter’s right to use this mosque for 99 years.

The mosque will serve as an Iranian cultural center.

Note that, Blue Mosque belonged to the Azerbaijanis who once lived in Yerevan.

Built under the order of Khan of Irevan Huseynali, the mosque is one of the jewels of Azerbaijani architecture and is the largest of all the mosques in Yerevan.

Blue Mosque is one of the eight mosques where Azerbaijanis performed acts of worship during the Tsar period.

In 1995-2006, the mosque has been largely restored by Iranian
