Ancient settlement found in Azerbaijan
"Preliminary archeological studies find out that the settlement belongs to Late Bronze and early Iron Age.
A settlement relating to the beginning of the 1st millennium BC has been found in Azerbaijan, head of the Sheki-Gakh-Oghuz expedition (the Institute of Archeology and Ethnography of the Azerbaijani National Azerbaijan Academy of Sciences (ANAS)) Nasib Mukhtarov told.

He said, the ancient settlement and necropolis have been discovered during planting trees in Juyurlu forest of Sheki: “Preliminary archeological studies find out that the settlement belongs to 3900-3800 years – Late Bronze and early Iron Age. A lot of human and animal skeletons, as well as kitchen and dining utensils have been found during the excavations. The thickness of the cultural layer of the area is still 70 cm. The excavations will be continued for two months.”
