Turkey issues Twitter with $51,000 fine
Turkey
Twitter’s representatives have not issued a response to the fine.

The fine has been issued due to Twitter’s not complying with the demands of the ICTA to delete the accounts of the users in Turkey who are engaged in propaganda of terrorism.

In October, Turkey’s ex-minister of transport, maritime and communications, Lutfi Elvan said in an interview that Turkey can block Twitter in the country if necessary.

Two days before the October 10 terrorist attack in Ankara, which killed 106 and injured 200, some users left tweets saying that “there will be a big explosion in Ankara.”

Turkish authorities requested that Twitter provides them with IP addresses of the users who caused the suspicion of being involved in the Ankara terror attack. The request was granted by Twitter.
