Azerbaijan hands over Armenian serviceman to third country
Azerbaijan handed over to a third country an Armenian serviceman Hagop Indzhigulyan, the head of the Azerbaijani representation of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) Ilakha Huseynova told.

The country that Indzhigulyan was handed over to was not revealed.

Hagop Indzhigulyan (born in 1991) entered the territory under the control of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces in the district of Agdam on the night of August 8, 2013.

Before handing over the Armenian serviceman to a third country the ICRC met with him.

Indzhigulyan previously applied for transfer to a third country.

The conflict between the two South Caucasus countries began in 1988 when Armenia made territorial claims against Azerbaijan.

As a result of the ensuing war, in 1992 Armenian armed forces occupied 20 percent of Azerbaijan, including the Nagorno-Karabakh region and seven surrounding districts.

The two countries signed a ceasefire agreement in 1994. The co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group, Russia, France and the U.S. are currently holding peace negotiations.

Armenia has not yet implemented four U.N. Security Council resolutions on the liberation of the Nagorno-Karabakh and the surrounding regions.
