Azerbaijani oil transportation via BTC increased in 2015
Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) oil pipeline transported 28.84 million tons of Azerbaijani oil in 2015 compared to 28.51 million tons in the same period in 2014, SOCAR said Jan. 7.
Azeri Light oil, produced in the Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli field, is mainly exported via BTC. Besides the Azerbaijani oil, the oil from Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan, delivered to Baku by tankers, is supplied through a pipeline. Some 5.55 million tons of Kazakh and Turkmen oil were supplied via BTC in 2015.

As a whole, some 292.68 million tons of oil were transported after the commissioning of the pipeline.

Some 29.1 million tons of oil were sent from the Turkey’s Ceyhan port to the world markets in 2015 compared to 29.13 million tons transported in 2014.

Since the commissioning of the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan oil pipeline, 291.02 million tons of Azerbaijani oil have been sent to the world markets from Ceyhan port.

BTC Co. shareholders are: BP (30.1 percent), AzBTC (25 percent), Chevron (8.9 percent), Statoil (8.71 percent), ТРАО (6.53 percent), Eni (5 percent), Total (5 percent), Itochu (3.4 percent), Inpex (2.5 percent), ConocoPhillips (2.5 percent) and ONGC (2.36 percent).
