Georgia and SOCAR to discuss natural gas shortage
Today we will talk with representative of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) about fulfilling the deficit of natural gas, a member of the majority of the Georgian parliament Gia Volsky said.
A lot of misinformation is being disseminated in recent days, he said.

"Georgia receives via SOCAR a certain amount of natural gas from its strategic partner - Azerbaijan. Since 2003, a certain part of the deficit filled by means of "Gazprom". The "Gazprom" has its own interests in the supply of natural gas in Armenia and, of course, it depends on its passage through the territory of Georgia. So, there is an interdependence," Volsky said.

According to him, in addition, there is a need to fill the deficit. It has been carried out since 2003. We are talking about different volumes, from 40 mln cubic meters of gas to 130-150 mln cubic meters, which is provided by "Gazprom".

As Volsky noted, the issue of filling the deficit of natural gas will be discussed today with representative of SOCAR.

"Representative of SOCAR is to arrive. We will talk about the details, mainly prices, and then we will decide then we will decide about the source for filling the deficit," Volsky said on the eve.
