Iran FM: Nuclear deal to be implemented today

He made the remarks upon his arrival in Vienna to meet with his US counterpart John Kerry and the EU foreign policy chief Federica Mogherini over the Iran nuclear deal.

“An IAEA report verifying that Iran has fulfilled its commitments under the JCPOA will be issued today,” Zarif said, adding after that, Iran and P5+1 will issue a joint statement and the implementation of nuclear deal will start.

Under the nuclear deal reached between Iran and the P5+1 (the US, France, the UK, Germany, China, and Russia) in July 2015, sanctions against Tehran will be lifted in exchange for restrictions on its nuclear activities.

The IAEA has been given the role of verifying Iran’s commitments under the deal.

Earlier, Abbas Araqchi, Iran’s deputy foreign minister, said that the guideline of removing the US and EU sanctions against the Islamic Republic were finalized last week.
